How to Pack a Trade Show Display That Is Fast to Rebuild at the Booth

Short answer: pack a trade show display in setup order, not by object type. Photograph the finished layout, label zones, protect each component individually and create a one-page rebuild map.

Design for reconstruction

A booth that only one stylist can rebuild from memory is fragile. Before packing, assign each display piece to a zone such as left, center, right or checkout and record the final arrangement from the front and above.

Pack in reverse setup order

Items needed last should go deeper in the case; items needed first should be accessible first. Keep small jewelry holders or accessories in clearly labeled inner boxes rather than loose among large risers.

Protect surfaces separately

Hard display pieces should not rub against each other in transit. Wrap them individually and immobilize voids so weight cannot shift onto edges. Heavy mineral pieces belong low in the transport container.

Create a booth kit

• Printed or offline layout reference.
• Zone labels.
• Microfiber cloth.
• Approved surface-cleaning supplies.
• Spare pads or feet where applicable.
• Tape measure.
• Extension leads and lighting accessories stored separately from display surfaces.

Use fewer, more versatile forms
